Lavey GAA Club's AGM was held on Saturday evening, 6th December, with the following officers elected:

President: John Joe Maguire. Vice Presidents: Fr. Brian McElhinney, Fr. Kevin Fay, Joe Kearns, Paddy Reilly (Aughadreena), Johnny Cusack. Chairman: Martin Smith. Vice Chairman: Damien Tynan. Secretary: Terry Smith. Treasurers: Danny Murphy, Liam Maguire. PRO: Paula Rutherford. Insurance Officer: Peadar Smith. Health & Wellbeing Officers: Tom Fitzsimons, Michael Kavanagh. 

Congratulations to The Aughadreena N.S. boys on their big win in the Cumann na mBunscoil final. They pulled away from Swanlinbar N.S. in the second half to win on a scoreline of 6-7 to 1-3. 

Lavey Minors were outclassed by Knockbride in the Minor C Championship Final, while the U-10s had another successful outing in the Kadona Tournament in Stradone this weekend

The U-8s and U-12s had a successful foray at a Blitz in Crosskeys on Saturday 27th, with the U-12s bringing home the silverware. 

Lavey GAA Golf Classic

The Golf Classic was a huge success yesterday, 12th September 2014. Many thanks to all involved, especially the 40 competing teams and 120 tee sponsors, everyone at County Cavan Golf Club, especially Jim McDermott, Pete Reilly and Bill Noble. Huge credit is due to Jimmy Galligan and the Lavey Golf Society for a brilliantly run event. Thanks to Paula, Keith & Dean Rutherford for refuelling the teams at the 10th tee!

1st Prize went to a team led by Garrett Fortune, 2nd Prize to the Kill GAA team led by Joe Smith and 3rd Prize went to a team led by Dan Maguire. Gary Smith and Jimmy King got nearest the pin in 2 at the 6th and 14th respectively with Paddy Maher getting closest to the pin on the 10th.

Hotel Kilmore Senior Football Championship: Lavey bowed out of the Championship last night, (10th Sept.), following a below par performance against Ballinagh in the round 3 replay. A 9-point headstart proved insurmountable for an uncharacteristically flat Lavey team. See the match report section.

Hotel Kilmore Senior Football Championship: Lavey and Ballinagh couldn't be separated after playing out a thrilling draw in KBP yesterday evening. The replay will be on Wednesday evening, 10th, at 8.15pm in Kingspan Breffni Park.

U-10 Joe Cullivan Memorial Tournament: Lavey came out on top at the annual Joe Cullivan Tournament on Saturday 6th September. The tournament, as usual, was a huge success. Many thanks to the participating teams from Lavey, Denn, Ballyhaise and Laragh.

Hotel Kilmore Cavan Senior Football Championship: Lavey slumped to 7 point defeat to Lacken in KBP tonight. The concession of 4 goals proved vital on a night that also saw the loss late on of Karl Duke and Ray Cullivan to red cards. Ballinagh now await through the back door next weekend.

Farnham Arms Hotel Minor C Championship: Lavey made no mistake second time round in defeating Killinkere on a scoreline of 4-11 to 3-8 in the round 1 replay at New Inn this evening.

U-12 Summer League: Lavey romped to a 6-11 to 1-09 victory in the final against Munterconnaught this evening. 

17-8-2014.

Lavey defeat Mullahoran on a scoreline of 0-10 to 0-9 to progress to play Lacken in Round 2A of the Hotel Kilmore Cavan Senior Football Championship.

Despite the loss of goalkeeper Conor Martin to a red card with 10 minutes remaining, Lavey battled for the remainder and it fell to Darragh Conaty to cooly slot the winning score in the final minute.
